The Bingham Foundation is dedicated to empowering the youth by providing transformative educational opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). In partnership with Connecting STEM Geniuses dba RoboThink East Atlanta, we are enthusiastic about unlocking the potential of young minds and paving the way for equitable opportunities in the future. We aspire to create a future where all youth can confidently embrace technology, think innovatively, and make meaningful contributions to society. Through our STEM series, we aim to spark a passion for learning, foster creativity, and build self-assurance. We nurture a diverse and inclusive environment aimed at cultivating a generation of leaders who will drive positive change, dismantle barriers, and shape the future of STEM industries.
The Bingham Foundation was birthed out of the collective drive, talent and commitment to the community of Max and LaTonya Bingham. Both have a deep passion for education and community service which drives TBF’s ongoing efforts to create opportunities for children and inspire the next generation of leaders. TBF currently sits on a couple schools STEM boards.
Max serves as Executive Director of The Bingham Foundation, leading the organization’s STEM strategy, technical program design, and industry partnerships. He brings more than 20 years of engineering and project-management experience and holds two master’s degrees (Project Management; Public Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management), a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering Technology, an A.S. in Computer Information Systems, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). At Philips Healthcare he manages customer projects that integrate clinical systems and medical technology, translating complex technical requirements into hands-on learning experiences, validation workflows, and instructor training for learners. Max designs data-driven, accessible STEM programs that teach technology, coding, and systems thinking while creating apprenticeship pipelines, mentorships, and sensory-friendly pathways for neurodiverse and underserved students to advance into education and the workforce.
LaTonya Bingham serves as a Board Member of The Bingham Foundation, where she helps shape strategic direction, develop STEM-focused programming, and lead partnerships that connect healthcare innovation with inclusive education. A licensed cardiac and vascular sonographer with over 20 years of clinical experience, Latonya currently serves as Clinical Supervisor of the Diagnostic Cardiology Department at Northside Hospital. Her expertise spans noninvasive imaging, sonographic diagnostics, and team leadership across high-acuity environments. With a BA in Political Science from Mississippi State University and advanced training from Washburn University, she brings a unique blend of policy insight and technical precision to her role. Latonya’s commitment to mentorship, patient education, and process improvement has sparked growing interest from local schools and universities eager to collaborate with TBF on STEM initiatives that reflect real-world healthcare applications and empower neurodiverse learners.
“My daughter joined The Bingham Foundation’s STEM program with no prior coding experience. Within weeks, she was building robots and explaining how sensors work! The confidence she’s gained has been incredible — it’s more than a program; it’s a transformation.”
“Partnering with The Bingham Foundation has been one of the best decisions for our students. Their engaging approach to STEM keeps learners excited, challenged, and truly inspired. They’re not just teaching technology — they’re shaping future innovators.”
“Before joining, I didn’t think STEM was for me. Now, I’m coding games and building robots with my friends! The teachers make learning fun, and I feel like I can actually be an engineer one day.”
